The Ashcroft Arms was situated at 323 Ashcroft Road. The pub closed in 2014 and is now a Spar supermarket. Well known, not necessarily for the right reasons, as the Straw Plaiters it also had spells as the Red Rooster and as the Moon & Sixpence.
