Man Loaded With Mischief

The Man Loaded with Mischief was situated at 34 Madingley Road. The publican in 1916 was Benjamin Pry.

I used to live here and a replica of the original pub sign was in the garage when we moved in. The original is in the Cambridge Folk museum. At this time (1985ish) my father bought the Live and Let Live pub in Mawson Road and had the sign remade and this sign still hangs outside the Live.

In 1911, when this pub was simply known as The Mischief,  the publican was John Hazlewood an ex Met police officer.

I used to live there in the late 60's/early 70's. When we moved in I did a lot of research for my dad regarding the pub sign as he wanted to get a replica made which was then hung up outside in the front garden. I wonder if that was the sign you found James Hoskins?
