In the late 1950s the Landlords were Mr & Mrs
Oliver. Their son Bill Oliver had the farm opposite the Golf Course entrance
at what we called the Cherry Hinton crossroads ( Hinton Way , now Magog
Court) . . Bill had bought a field from our parents . The pub was not near
many houses and relied on passing motoring trade. We were too young to be
allowed inside but the old chalk pit at the rear was a spot to hunt for lost
golf balls. |
