The Angel Inn was situated at 198 Derby Road. This pub opened in the late 1920s and closed in 2010. It has now been converted to a Tesco Express. By 1931 it was run by Harry Varley who was the town's mayor in 1934.
It was run,for a short time,by Craig Barry who had a rock ‘n’ roll group, Craig Barry & the rhythm men. They used to have rock ‘n’ roll groups on so me & the other Teddyboys used to go there.
