Royal Tiger

The Royal Tiger was situated on Nottingham Road. This pub is now used as a veterinary practice. The Royal Tiger is mentioned in the Whites Directory of 1857 when George Rhodes was the inn-keeper and is the first inn in the hamlet of Somercotes. It is believed that this may not be the original building and that it stood further back originally.
Licensees include:
1846 John Brough
1857 George Rhodes
1887 Ellis Thomas
1899 John Hunt
1912 Hamlet Yates
