The Alma Hotel was situated at 4 Whitby Street. This pub was refurbished in the 1960s, in 1996 it was briefly The Brewer & Firkin, the The New Alma Hotel. Approval was granted in 2021 for it to be converted to hotel, bar and restaurant. It has been empty since at least 2019.
