The Chequers


The Chequers was situated on Chequer Street. This pub closed in 1993.
In 1854 William Buddle, 37, carpenter, was accused at Huntingdonshire Quarter Sessions of stealing four books, the property of Joseph Withern, Fenstanton, proprietor of the Chequers public house. Sentenced to 3 weeks hard labour.
