The Bell was situated on The Waits and is now in residential use.

My grandmother and my mother were born at this pub. At the time my great great grandfather, Samuel Mapperley was the landlord (1855 to 1899). It is now a private house like lots of other pubs, the chimney breast still has a plaque on with the name and there is a small sign next to the front door with 'The Bell' on.

This pub featured in the BBC series 'Who Do You Think You Are'. One of Joe Lysett's ancestors, who was a chimney sweep, lived here.
