The Good Intent was situated on New Road.
Closed in the mid 1990s, it is now used as an Indian restaurant. |

Two brothers, Vic and Tony Pitt, lived
at this pub in the late 1950s, early 1960s, presumably because their parents
managed it. Both were outstanding Jazz musicians, Vic was a bass player and
spent very long periods with Kenny Ball and then Chris Barber while Tony was
with all the name bands including Acker Bilk. |
