The Man Of Kent was situated on Cockleshell Walk, also known as Water Lane. This pub was present by 1871 and closed by the 1920s. The publican in the 1871, 1881 and 1891 censuses was George Anderson. This pub has now been demolished; the above photo shows the site of the building in the right hand foreground.
