The Wheatsheaf Inn was situated at 76 Deane Road.
This pub was present by 1861 when the publican was William Greenhalgh. It
was rebuilt in 1875. I
lived here when it was just a beer house run by Magee Marshalls then
Greenall Whitleys brewery. It's other nickname was Old Picks run by Pickles
Wolfenden, then George Haslam. My parents moved there in October, 1962. It
closed in 1972 |
