The White House was situated on Bridgman Street. This pub closed in the 1980s.

Joan Ashbarry   My family ran this pub for a while in the 1950s. My grandma died in it in 1953. It was not fully licensed but you could always get a short from under the counter.
Billy Shepherdson 1972/1986 This was my local, the last landlord & landlady was George & Mary Simpson, Joe Turner was head barman. When I was 13 in 1966 My best friend Brent Howarth's Mum & Dad (Jim Howarth) was the landlord.
Jack Ball 1953/1964 My Mother and Father where the licencee's until 1960 until my sister and her husband Dorothy & Bill Watkinson took over.It was a Cornbrook house and officially only had a beer licence although you could always get a wee dram I the kitchen.My first wedding was held there in 1961,a lot of the lads from the Atlas forge acros the road used the pub
