The Duke Of York was situated at 238 Burgess Street. 
A murder took place at this pub during a brawl in 1831. The culprit was hung on July 22nd at Lincoln Castle from the ‘new’ Long Drop method. The name of publican in 1831 was one Mr Kempsey.
