Rising Sun


The Rising Sun was situated at 31 Hungate. This pub opened in 1849 and closed in 1935. Now demolished.
From the archives:
On 24th September 1870 George Hopkins, landlord of the Rising Sun, was accused at Lincoln Quarter Sessions of maliciously stabbing John Goodyear, a labourer of 9 Mount Pleasant, in the left side of his chest.
