The Angel Inn was situated at 35 Double Street.
This pub is now used as a private house. The publican from 1913 to 1919 was John
Turner, who also acted as harbourmaster. |

My Gt. Gt. Grandfather Captain Thomas
Royce Owned, and was Landlord of The Angel Inn, when he died in 1878, he
left the pub to his widow Harriett Royce ( Turner), his Step-Son Captain
John Turner ran the pub when my Grand Mother died way before 1913. My
Grandfather had 5 ships in the 1800's, and he was a founder member of the
Spalding Shipwreck Society. |

My sister Eunice Alltree was married at this pub in 1955 to Ken Ringer.
I was wondering who was the owner of the pub then in 1955 or the
Landlord..I think it might have been one of my relatives. |
