The Cross Keys Inn was situated at 40 St Marys Street and is now in retail use. The publican in 1919 was Francis Haythorpe.

Publican in 1842 was Noah Norton. Noah built Freeman’s Cottages in Melancholy Walk, Stamford. His son, Robert Norton, was a silversmith and clockmaker who had a shop in High Street Stamford.
