Prince Of Wales, Stepney, E1, London

The Prince Of Wales was situated at 124 Globe Road. This pub was established by 1868 and was rebuilt in the 1930s.  It had been a Watney’s Brewery pub until 1995 when it became a free house, and at around this time it was renamed Charlie’s Bar.  The interior was decorated in a kind of Moroccan Kasbah-style, aimed largely at a gay clientele.  The pub closed in 2008.
 
This pub was demolished and replaced by flats in June 2012 (see photo below).
