The Feathers

The Feathers was situated at 36 Tudor Street. This was a historic pub, rebuilt in 1974 and renamed The Witness Box. It has now been converted into a branch of Jamie's wine bars.
My father, Richard (Dick) Summers, was the manager here with my mother in 1951 when I was born. He said it was frequented by newspaper reporters and the were 'meetings' of other societys etc.
One such memory he related was about the night of my birth there was a meeting of the Port of London Authority at which I was made an Honourary Member! So far this has not proved useful although I did mention it on a job application many years ago.
The Summers family have links to many pubs in London including the wonderfully named King Lud which my grandad ran.
