I used to work in The Cock Tavern.(1983), making ends meet. Some of the friendliest punters I can remember. Always a good laugh and a joke. And yes, many a joke made about the name. Locals just called it The Cock .I lost count how many times I was asked if I liked working the Cock? But, all in good nature and in keeping. Boys will be boys. But, this is where I learned the ropes, pulling pints and other things for running a public house. Those were the days.
