Goat House

The Goat House was situated at 2 Penge Road. Said to be named after an island in the Croydon Canal on which goats were kept. This pub has now been demolished.
Many happy memories from the 1950s.  Does anyone remember when time was being called?  The "little men" (automated dancing figures) would dance round high up in the corner to the tune of "La Ronde de L'Amour".  A spotlight would play on the rotating mirrors and we knew it was time to drink up (10.30 p.m.).

My Grand parents Charles and Mary Harper lived in this pub from around 1935-37.
