The Lord Clyde was situated at 3 Bethwin Road. This pub closed in the late 1980s. It has now been demolished and replaced by the block of flats in the photo below.

John Gilbody c.1975 My Uncle Tom & auntie Marge were landlords. My mum& dad bill & Doreen ran the pub when they went on holiday. I boxed for hollington boys club locally in comber grove. Customers I recall. Ernie & mauld. Dave the lump. Ernie the rag& bone man. Eddie, always fighting. My boxing trainers Barry frances. Terry Mancini. Terry- trainer. Both black cabbies. My uncle Alf sold crap in car park on a Saturday. Long live the name lord Clyde & shandy bass!!
