Station Hotel

The Station Hotel was situated at 168-170 Whitley Road.
My grandfather, John Mulholland, ran this pub from about 1901 till his death in Jan 1928. Born in Hamilton Scotland, he had previously been a miner as a young lad, then an agent for a coal company, then he set up on his own as a wine and spirits merchant till he took over the Station Hotel. During his tenure of the Station Hotel he had a hobby of making engineering designs, many of which were sent to the Patents Office, though I donít know what happened to them after that. The pub is up for sale, and may be developed as residential unit.
