The Anchor Inn was situated at 29 Catherine Street. Following closure this pub was used as a shop with living accommodation above.

I obviously do not recall it being a pub and did not know it was when I worked for the gentleman Peter Rowland Ware, who ran it as an antique tool shop. I enjoyed the customers and cleaning up toils. That was between 1981, I think, until around 1993. I also lived there, it was a lovely Victorian home.
