The Viaduct Inn was situated on Brassknocker Hill. This pub closed in 2005 and is now in residential use.
I have many memories of this pub from parties to weddings to gigs. I have been to two weddings here, several parties in the mid 1970s and played once or twice in a band. On one occasion when my car broke down outside, the landlord, or one of the barmen, fixed it for me out in the cold night air. It was a loose screw holding the points in place. One night during the late 1970s, an impromptu gig was performed by, I think, The Four Tops, who happened to be passing that way.
