The Cambridge Inn was situated at 23 Northgate. This pub is now in residential use. Previously known as The Pleasure Boat.

In the book 'The Art of Coarse Sailing' by Michael Green, a Cambridge pub in Beccles is mentioned on page 126.
'Afterwards we adjourned to the Cambridge public house, as we do every year we visit Beccles. Old Harry, the landlord, always lets us use the back room with the harmonium on which we play dismal dirges and where we can sing without distressing the other customers too much.'
Tony Bennett (January 2019)

The pub is mentioned on p127 of the book Broadland Adventure (1951), by J Wentworth Day. A Mrs Algar was the publican and was famous for her expert pike fishing.
Geoff Kemball-Cook (October 2025)
