The White Lion was situated at 19 Smallgate. This pub is now used as a Member's Club.
 
Court case between Edward Spurdance and Mary his wife (nee Batson) and others, the complainants, Richard Smith and others the defendants. The date is April 10th 1667 The depositions are being collected in the house of Henry Farrer in Beccles, commonly called or known by the name of the White Lion.
