Golden Eagle

The Golden Eagle was situated at 178 Foleshill Road. This pub has now been converted into a medical centre.
I used to walk past the Golden Eagle, along Eagle St and turning onto Foleshill Rd, every morning. This would've been the late eighties, and was part of my walk to work at a logistics firm on the Courtaulds site. The roller shutter seen to the right of the photo, used to be a stained-glass window. And I'm almost 100% certain this pub was the location for the front cover photo of the "More Specials" LP. I owned that album at the time, and from memory, the glass design, although I was looking from the outside in, was exactly the same. And in the photo below, you can see the Specials are drinking beer, and so appear to be in a pub! Anyway, just some reminisces from a Specials fan (now living in Sydney Australia) who was saddened to hear of the death of Terry Hall today.
