Name Dates Comments R Green 1968/1983 My grandfather ran this pub for 15 years. It was listed so couldn’t be demolished in the 1970s when they built the new housing - opposite Sainsbury’s (now Tesco Express). He had a lounge bar and a public bar at the front. It was a very old building full of brick-brac from former owners. He gave up the tenancy when serving food was the only way to turn a profit. It’s been a semi-open Chinese restaurant for the past 20 or so years!
