The Plough & Ship was situated on the Old Hull Road. This grade-II listed pub is now in residential use.

Listed building details:
Coaching inn, now house. Late C18 with later additions and alterations including extension to rear. Pinkish-brown brick with ashlar dressings and pantile roof. L-shaped on plan with central staircase. 2 storeys, 3 bays, with central breakforward. Central doorway with decorative fielded panelling in eared architrave with fluted frieze and pediment 3-course first-floor band. Windows are sashes with margin lights under fluted wedge lintels with keystones and with stone sills. Those to ground floor have C20 shutters. Wooden dentil eaves cornice. Ashlar kneelers and coping. End and ridge stacks. Blocked pitching doors to gable ends. Interior has rod on vase dog-leg staircase. Chamfered beams and exposed rafters to some rooms. Grain shoot in attic.
