The Talbot Hotel was situated at 2 South Street. This pub has now been demolished.

Middlesbrough FC was formed in this pub by Middlesbrough Cricket Club.

First licensed in 1844 and finally closed in the 1950s. This pub was also known as 'The Dog' (a Talbot is a kind of Bloodhound), and 'Slackers' after a former landlord.
