The New White Bear was situated on Dewbury Road. This pub remains a very distinctive building - I think dating from the 1970s. it is unusual in that it is clad in white boards and is multi-storey. In its last phase of use it was a Brewer's Fayre but gave up the ghost c2010. It's currently under consideration for demolition and McDonald's are on their 6th attempt to buy the plot and convert it into a restaurant (against loads of local opposition).
