Rose Of Denmark

The Rose Of Denmark was situated at 612 Roman Road, closing in 2006.
Now a fast food takeaway outlet with the floors above used as flats.
Keith Emmerson
Present by 1872, this was a Watney’s Brewery pub and one of a batch which was sold to Belhaven in around 1990.  Like most of the rest of the batch, it did not last very much longer and was closed by 2006.  The premises are now used to fry and sell chicken bits. The name Rose of Denmark refers to Princess Alexandra of Denmark who married Prince Edward (later Edward VII) in 1863.
