The Crown was situated at 16 High Street. This pub closed in 1954 and has been in retail use since then.

This appears to be attached to the brewery that used to be at the rear. The brewery is certainly older. The pub first appears named the Crown in 1900 when it is transferred to John Field. Perhaps using the name of the other Crown that had recently closed as a bit of PR.
