Stoke Vaults

The Stoke Vaults was situated at 33 Waterloo Street. This pub was founded by the Chappel family c1865. It closed in the 1990s.

I think that this was the pub used by myself and others during our first year as naval apprentices at HMS Fisgard at Torpoint from 1966 to 1967. It was known to us as Piggy's, although I have no idea why.
