Inn was situated on Fore Street. This pub was demolished to make way for
road improvements. Built on the site of an earlier pub called The Exeter
Inn. |

Myself and my sister Rosalind and brother Tim were all
born in this pub. The landlord at the time was my maternal grandfather
Lewis Vooght. During the war years he and my grandmother ran the Bird in
Hand also in Teignmouth. It was hit by a bomb. Luckily for them and my
mother they were out at the time. |
