The Star Inn was situated at 45 Fleet Street. This 18th century grade-II listed pub is now in residential use.

As a Folklorist I spoke to older members of the Beaminster Community who remembered the Star as a 'Singing' Pub. Traditional folk Songs were sung as a rule. The House and Meech Families sung there as well as Old Charlie Wills from Bridport on occasion. I have collected some of the songs, and the recordings are available on the British Library Website. Listed building details:
Detached House, former Public House known as Star Inn. C18. Stone walls, rendered. Slate roof with stone gable-copings. 2 brick stacks at left and right gables. 2 storeys and attics. 3 windows. Ground floor with 2 bow windows. Canted bays. Slate roofs over. Front door at left centre, wooden, panelled with 2 top lights. At centre between the bow, flush- panelled, C20. Iron bracket for former sign-board survives.
