The Kings Arms was situated at 46 North
Allington. This grade-II listed Palmers Brewery pub was refurbished in 2004/5 however
finally closed in December 2008. A light fitting with a brewery sign (see
photo below) can still be seen over the left hand corner of the door as can
brackets for window boxes, the sign brackets and other fittings or shadows
of. |

building details: |
Probably mid C19. Hammer dressed
stone. Pitched slate roof. 1 coped gable on kneelers at south end,
considerably steeper than pitch of roof. Modern stacks. 2 storeys. 4 ranges
of casements with glazing bars. The King's Arms has 1 6-panelled door. |
