The Postchaise was situated at 36-37 Market Place. This Grade II listed pub, which closed 2 April 2013, was de-listed by Historic England on 17 Sept 2024. Approval has been granted to demolish both this pub and the adjoining Queens Head which have been derelict since closure, and an adjacent building to be replaced with a 59-bed hotel, bar, and restaurant, under the charity "The Auckland Project"
