The Queens Head was situated on the Market Place. This pub closed 1 Nov 2013. Approval has been granted to demolish both this pub and the adjoining Post Chaise which have been derelict since closure, and an adjacent building to be replaced with a 59-bed hotel, bar, and restaurant, under the charity "The Auckland Project"
