The Red Lion was situated at 66-68 North Street.
There was been records of a Red Lion in Barking since 1714 (when it was
noted that it was previously called the Blue Boar). The current Red Lion was
built in 1899 and closed as a pub in 2008. It was turned into flats although
the pub frontage and insignia remain. Paul Simon appeared at a folk club
here in the 1960s. |
