The Royal Oak was situated on Brockhurst Road.
This pub has now been converted into flats. |

This pub belonged to my great grandma Julia
Rogers. Her three children all were born there. Maud, Gwendolyn and Elsie.
Julia ran the pub herself. Her husband was in the Royal Marines. I can
remember my grandmothers stuffed parrot on top of the piano. It used to be
in the pub bar where it picked up the soldiers language. |
