The Bedwell Arms was situated on Rownhams Lane. This pub closed in the late 1960s.

This was a Strongs pub. known locally as the Flying Piss Pot, allegedly in the depths of the past the Landlady when being woken up by someone wanting an after hours refreshment, emptied the contents of her chamberpot over him. It was a haunt of travelling families and country people, it was amazing what could be sourced there.
