The Heart In Hand was situated on Bar End Road. This pub was present by 1849 when the publican was George Goodchild. It has now been demolished.

Deborah Zissier 2004 I was landlady for a while i was also a bed& breakfast pub mainly for contractors & sight seekers on weekend i loved it there.
Peter Downes 1960s My grandparents were landlord and landlady of this family pub and holds many happy memories for me my late mother and father,it was a very popular pub at the time and I was in an 8 piece harmonica band there for several years,the name of my grandparents were mr and Mrs F Brunning,they ran this pub for 38 years and before that ran The willow tree pub for 12 years
