The Railway Inn was situated on the corner of  Station Road and Acre End Street. This pub opened in 1871, however in 1976, the building suffered extensive damage when a lorry carrying a load of hay saw its cargo ignite whilst turning into Station Road, forcing closure. It was converted into flats not long after.
