The Red Lion was situated on Marlborough Street. This grade-II listed pub is due to be converted to mixed use retail and residential.
 

 
Listed building details:
Later Cl7 rubble stone inn, stuccoed and altered. 2-storey and attic with steep roof, hipped to east, gabled with end wall stack to west. Stone tiled main roof slopes, modern tiles to rear. One gabled dormer. 3-window range, glazing bar sash windows above and 2 canted bays with glazing bar sash windows below. Central door. Fascia carried around bays and over door. 2 glazing bar sash windows to east end wall. Broad rear attic gable. Extensive rear buildings, part stuccoed, 2-storey with some glazing bar sashes and a plank door on east side.
