The Maidens Head was situated at 8-9 Turl Street (formerly Lincoln Lane). This grade-II listed pub was
present by 1761 when the publican was Samuel Hicks. It closed in 1910 and is
now in commercial use. The last publican was Harry Rumball. |

House and modern shops. Probably originally a
C18 house. 3-storeyed timber-framed with a Welsh slate roof. On the 1st
floor are 3, and in 2nd floor 2, sash windows in moulded wood frames with
moulded cornices. Some windows have glazing bars. |
