I am now in my eighties and Mum was helping my
Auntie out in The Oddfellows Burton upon Trent during the war when a bomb
fell right outside. The houses opposite were demolished and the pub had some
damage and was shaken to its roots. My Auntie Mrs Jessie Haynes at that time
then went on to be the landlady of the old
Grove Hotel Stapenhill Burton upon
Trent with my Uncle Mr Albert Haynes. |
