Stumbled across your site when checking the name ‘Balaclava Beerhouse’ from
the 1881 Census. Edwin Delves was a beer retailer living at Balaclava
Beerhouse, 73 High Street, Brighton, Sussex. Also there were his wife,
Fanny, a servant, Jane Dibbell and lodger, George Land. Looking at 73 High
Street on Google Maps, I think the building is still there. |
