Cl6 or early C17. Timber frame, steeply pitched old tiled roof with gable, plaster infilling and some early cl9 brickwork to front. 2 storeys, sash windows.

Name Dates Comments Phillip Neal 1979 to present I purchased The Peacock from Benskins brewers in Watford in 1979 and have lived here ever since. Just want to let you know the dates as a local historianlooked up the history in Bedford archaives. Its been a pub since 1441 and John Bailey the timber rame man says it as originally built as a merchants house so probably older making it the oldest buiding in Leighton Buzzard apart from All Saints church.
