The Wheatsheaf was situated on
Shaw Road. This pub had been owned by Watney Mann (formerly Ushers) since
1925 and closed in 1971. It is now in residential use. |

My grandfather was the last landlord of
the Wheatsheaf his name was Albert Little and he retired in 1965,I remember
the cellar steps being very steep but I was only 5 years old the last time I
was there
There was a public bar that was gentlemen only and a small snug where my
grandmother waited on the customers, mostly ladies ! |
